Default REMAINS OF MALE IN ILLINOIS

http://www.wndu.com/nationworldnews/.../46355642.html

Authorities say DNA tests show a headless, armless skeleton found along the Des Plaines River in Illinois last week was from an unidentified male.

Wednesday's announcement by the Illinois State Police ends speculation that the remains were related to the high-profile Will County missing persons cases of Stacy Peterson or Lisa Stebic.

The Will County coroner has said the person was dead for several months or more. Results of an autopsy last week were inconclusive.

Authorities say an investigation into the corpse's identity is ongoing. The rib cage, spinal column and partial left and right femur bones were found.

So far, I can find no other info on this man/boy. I am searching for missing persons reports & will update as I can.
Someone must be searching for this person, some family members missing him.
Let's try to help.

Thanks for getting this started. Let's see if we can help bring closure and justice for this family.

Purdue Student Remains Missing Could this be him?

It has been two weeks and there is still no sign of a missing Purdue University student.

Wade Steffeey, 19, was last seen after a fraternity party on campus early January 13th.

He was reported missing after friends returned from a three-day weekend and could not find him.

Sweeps by search dogs and a helicopter turned up no signs of the missing college freshman.

Investigators said they had no evidence linking the disappearance of Steffey and a reported campus assault.

Police say they have found inconsistencies in a student's account of an assault he said happened late January 12th near a residence hall where Steffey had been seen.

This young man has been missing since January. It's cold, icy and snowy in ILL around that time. The remains found are pretty much skeletal. I'm not thinking it's the student because there would be more than just skeletal IMO. Weather up there really doesn't warm up until April thru May. The cold would have staved off decomp. It happens a lot in MI when bodies are found in the spring...they are pretty intact after being frozen for a few months.

John Michael Spira, 45 years old, 5'8", 165 pounds, brown hair, brown eyes. Resident of St. Charles, Illinois. Last seen wearing blue jeans, black turtleneck sweater, black shoes, olive green aviator jacket.

Please call Dupage County Sheriff Investigation Commander Mark Edwalds at (630) 407-2321 .
with ANY information.

This is another possibility. He was wearing blue jeans, which were found with the remains.

How long has he been missing? They did say there were shreds of jeans with the remains. For only skeletal remains, I'm thinking the person they found had to be missing somewhere around summer '08. It starts getting very cold and snowy by Nov. up there.

Feb 23, 2007. Being from the South, I know nothing of this area or snow.
How hot does it get in the summer? Also, I still can not find out if the blue barrel has any thing to do with the body that was found.

Thanks for the help!

Summers around MI, OH, IL averages in the 80's. But it really doesn't warm up until June. I spoke with a friend in MI the over the weekend, and it was in the low 70's.

Thank you so much for the help. This is my first try at this. It always seems like they have some clue, some one reported missing, in cases like this. LE either does not, or they are keeping it close to the vest for now.

YW! That's whats good about forums like this. We all have knowledge and experience of living all over to share.

Thank you Sadie. It just seems like all the mainstream media care about is that it is not one of the women in the high profile cases. There has barely been a word about who this poor person may be.
I know that all of the families need closure and I feel horrible for them. However, there are so many missing & murdered people, that it seems unfair that these other families can not get help. One can only imagine how they feel about the saturation of media on these few cases, & not a word on theirs. It is unfair & sad.

I hope they find out who this person is.

Remember when Drew's attorney or Drew said that they were
not worried about this find? This leads me to believe Stacey was not
put in a body of water.

You are right. Also, does anyone recall him being worried about a blue barrel?
It was so long ago that I have forgotten, but to me, that never seemed to bother him.
