Default Categories of Human Trafficking

http://www.interpol.int/Crime-areas/...an-trafficking

Trafficking in women for sexual exploitation

This prevalent form of trafficking affects every region in the world, either as a source, transit or destination country. Women and children from developing countries, and from vulnerable parts of society in developed countries, are lured by promises of decent employment into leaving their homes and travelling to what they consider will be a better life.

Trafficking for forced labour

Victims of this equally widespread form of trafficking come primarily from developing countries. They are recruited and trafficked using deception and coercion and find themselves held in conditions of slavery in a variety of jobs.

Commercial sexual exploitation of children in tourism

This crime type has been apparent in Asia for many years and has now taken hold in Africa as well as Central and South America.

Trafficking in organs

Trafficking in humans for the purpose of using their organs, in particular kidneys, is a rapidly growing field of criminal activity. In many countries, waiting lists for transplants are very long, and criminals have seized this opportunity to exploit the desperation of patients and potential donors. The health of victims, even their lives, is at risk as operations may be carried out in clandestine conditions with no medical follow-up.

Modern Slavery - Human Trafficking in the United States

Current Exhibit – Can You Walk Away?

Quote:
To commemorate the 150th Anniversary of the Emancipation Proclamation, the Cottage opened “Can You Walk Away? Modern Slavery and Human Trafficking in the United States” in February 2012. This special exhibit challenges perceptions of slavery in America today and raises awareness of a growing humanitarian crisis. By posing the question, “Can you walk away?” this exhibit inspires people to engage with the modern abolitionist movement and to see that slavery is an ongoing issue that requires big thinking and direct action, just as it did in Lincoln’s time.

Just wanted to add, there is a new billboard campaign about trafficking, etc.

"Being a teen prostitute is not a crime, it is slavery."

They have tested positive for it in their systems and are then charged with a possession charge which carries a prison sentence for up to 10 years!

Our prison has inmates working at many businesses and work for that whopping 25 cents per hour. They work long hours and do so on very little food. In fact most food prepared at our prison is nonedible and many times spoiled and unrecognizable.

Yes...slavery in our own country and the prisons are making millions!

Here's the thing that pisses me off royally about this too...

I have absolutely no problem with prisoners working to learn and expand skills...in fact I think it's great.

What I have a problem with is while we are paying these corporations to house, feed, and care for them.

They are:

1. Making a profit????
2. Hustling them out to companies who are making a profit!!!
3. The system is wheeling & dealing to keep these slave camps full by drawing from OUR communities.

This is frightening to me...and the majority of the candidates running in 2016 are backed by these wankers! They are writing contracts that ensure a steady flow of inmates, or they can sue our municipalities for breach of contract.

Now consider the "police state" we seem to be heading into...

NO! NO! NO!

And you know what else, the Foster care & for profit Adoption industry functions in much the same way...

While CPS is ripping kids away from families on false pretenses, because the kids meet the "desired" type.

Gotta love the free-market WITHOUT proper regulation.

This came across my feed today.

Read the comments too:

Child protective services and the criminalization of parenthood

Quote:
Goldberg correctly points out that similar to issues such as police militarization, mandatory minimum sentencing and other overreaches of the criminal justice system, the child protective services (CPS) issue is finally getting some national attention not because these stories haven’t been going on for years, but because they’re finally starting to affect people who have the social capital to speak out.

CPS agencies have corrupt staff. All it takes is one to take a child or children from a struggling parent and to undermine their efforts at reunification in order to place the child up for adoption. Justin Harris, the Arkansas politician is but one example of someone who used his influence to obtain three little girls and when one of them didn't suit his style, he "re-homed" her into a household of abuse.

6 massage parlors were raided in a neighboring city yesterday. Human trafficking was one of the reasons the news listed as a cause. Well making sure there was none.

Yes, they will get the tip of the iceberg but not the bottom.

Why in the ding dong devil does the civilized world, if it is civilized, not do what is needed to stop slavery? Internationally it is illegal yet it persists. Some think it stopped in this country after the civil war, it didn't. People, mostly women, are bought and sold and tortured if they don't do their masters bidding. Mostly selling themselves on the streets of our cities both large and small.

http://www.businessinsider.com/sex-s...16-9?r=UK&IR=T

Then there is this. The world sits and thumbs its collective nose while these atrocities continue. This could be stopped and must be stopped.

Human's are not meant to be bought, sold or owned by anyone. Specially when you claim to be the religion of peace.

Give me a freakin break.
