Default Australian woman, Justine Damond-40, in Minneapolis fatally shot by police after calling 911

http://www.startribune.com/woman-kil...s/434782213/#1

I posted this because of the bizarre facts of this shooting: This woman is white by the way, so it probably won't get too much attention. The facts are so bizarre as to be totally mind boggling. The police did not have their body cams on either. the way the article reads this lady called about an assault in an alley behind her home; when the police got there she walked up to the police car in her pajamas and was shot by the police officer on the passenger side. how does any of this make sense?

Here is another article about this bizarre fatal shooting; this lady was engaged and lived what appears to be a good life. There was a brief mention of this on the Today show. Hopefully there will be attention given to this very strange case; i for one, want to know why this woman was shot and killed by the police.

https://www.washingtonpost.com/video...286_video.html

here is a video- but not much info on it; the decedent's son speaks and neighbors say the woman walked up to the police car in her pajamas and was shot. the question everyone wants to know, including the mayor of the city, is why the dash cam was not on nor body cams.

and why would this officer shoot her through the door of the driver's side? How does that happen without his partner getting shot?

"The identity of the police officer who shot and killed Australian woman Justine Damond has been revealed.

Cop Mohammed Noor is reported to have shot Ms Damond, 40, multiple times outside her home in Minneapolis, KSTP reported.

Mr Noor's lawyer, Tom Plunkett, confirmed the officer had fired his weapon to CBS.
'We take this seriously with great compassion for all persons who are being touched by this,' Mr Plunkett said.

Mr Noor has been working as a police officer since early 2015, and holds a degree in business administration and economics from Augsburg College.

He is the first Somali-American officer to work in Minneapolis' 5th precinct, reported KSTP. The officer has been suspended while an investigation into the shooting continues.

Ms Damond was shot dead in an alleyway behind her home about 11.30pm on Saturday night, while wearing her pyjamas, reports say...."

A woman was shot and killed by a Minneapolis police officer on Saturday after she called 911 to report a possible assault near her home just before midnight, authorities said.

The woman was fatally struck near her home in Minneapolis' Fulton neighborhood after two police officers responded to the 911 call around 11:30 p.m. local time, according to authorities.

Officials have not released the woman's identity, but ABC's Minnesota affiliate, KSTP, identified her as Justine Damond, a 40-year-old Australian native who had been living in the area with her fiance. The two were planning to get married next month, according to KSTP.

"My mom is dead because a police officer shot her for reasons I don't know," her stepson, Zach Damond, told KSTP on Sunday.

The Minneapolis Police Department told ABC News on Sunday that both officers were placed on paid administrative leave, pending investigation of the shooting.

I find it very hard to believe the officer just shot her without cause.

BUT, stranger things have happened!

I just heard about this on NBC News, and when I heard she was Australian, assumed with was probably Aborigine until they showed her picture.

I also wasn't surprised to hear that the alleged shooter was Somali. Go ahead and call me a xenophobe, but I have heard many times from people who live there that the Somalis have basically taken over the Twin Cities, and have nothing good to say about them.

Regardless why the police felt they had to kill this woman, I believe both officers should be fired for not turning their body cameras on. Those cameras were supposed to be on so why weren't they? Something isn't right here.

Greetings'

If it was an alley and late at night perhaps the officers involved thought she was a thief or something?

Amazing. She sounds like a peaceful, beautiful person.

So, where were the people she was originally calling about?
Did she live with the fiancé? If so, where was he?
What is the other cop saying about this whole thing??
Shot her in the stomach at point blank? That's a weird place to shoot her, if she's right by him?

no update on whoever she was calling about.

she lived with her fiance and he was out of town on a business trip.

the other cop's name is I think Matthew Harrity and no word from him yet.

The cop shot past the driver into the door of the car - bullet went through the door into her stomach. She was standing at the door talking to the driver.

I read this this morning:

"The police officer who shot dead an Australian woman outside of her Minnesota home was already under investigation for 'violently' forcing a woman to hospital, court documents allege. ..."

This article also says Justine was shot multiple times. Don't know if that is true, but the autopsy states that her death was a "homicide".
