Girls, this is a hot case. It's getting hotter. You may want to give thanks she had some awesome First Amendment attorneys who came to her defense. Let's face it. It may have save you from being muzzled from your free speech.
Give Jaded a shoutout for me and commend her on a job well done. Justice doesn't always wait for LE and the judicial system to take it's sweet time.

I heard last night on CNN that the August party was at the home of the coach, and he provided the alcohol!

Dr. Drew was on, and he said he told his kids that if they ever found out they were at a party like this to call him, and he would call the police and have the parents arrested. Hope he never had to do this.

This is like some bad Lifetime movie.

I watched that video last night, and read up on the case. How do kids reach that level of depravity? And that asshole that was filming, wonder if he is laughing now, wonder if any of them are laughing now.

So glad that this is getting exposed. That poor victim, can only imagine how many other victims of them are out there.

A couple years after Columbine, I saw an interview with a boy who was on the Columbine football team, and said that if the shooters had wanted to kill them, they could have come to the locker room where they would have been sitting ducks. I cringed a bit when I first heard that, and am actually surprised nobody's done it, but truthfully, if anyone did, in most schools the majority of kids would for the person or people who did it.

I can't find anything online about this, but in the early 1980s, not long after I graduated from HS, there was a car crash in rural Iowa that led to 8 fatalities - 4 football players in one car, 4 cheerleaders in the other. Not all of them died immediately, but none of them made it to the hospital alive. One thing that NEVER changed among anyone with whom I discussed it was that if it had happened at our own high school, there would have been a big celebration.

What got the most publicity was that the parents all thought they had these good Christian kids (or more likely were in huge denial) and when the autopsies came back, all 8 were legally drunk, most of them had been using other drugs too, and one of the girls was discovered to have been pregnant. It turned out that not only was she aware of her condition, she was planning to go to Des Moines the next day for an abortion. Now, I'm not going to judge someone for that in itself, but it was also the 3rd time she had done this, and in none of the cases did she have any idea who the father was. A 16-year-old girl who has been pregnant 3 times, regardless of outcome, has something SERIOUSLY wrong with her.

Divisive rape case puts Ohio town in national spotlight
2 hr ago| By Dan Burns and Peter Rudegeair

The case became national news this week after Anonymous activists posted online an alleged picture of the rape victim being carried by her wrists and ankles by two young men, and of a video showing several other young men joking about a rape.

Two Ohio high-school football players accused of raping a teenage girl may not get a fair trial after a photo and video allegedly associated with the case were posted on the Internet by the computer hacking group Anonymous, a lawyer for one of the accused said on Friday.

Ma'lik Richmond and Trenton Mays, both 16 and members of the Steubenville High School football team, are charged with raping a 16-year-old fellow student last August, according to statements from their attorneys to local and national media.

Their juvenile court trial is scheduled for February in Steubenville, a city of 19,000 about 40 miles west of Pittsburgh.

The case shot to national prominence this week when Anonymous activists made public a picture allegedly of the rape victim, being carried by her wrists and ankles by two young men, and of a video that showed several other young men joking about an alleged assault.

Was just listening to CNN and they said that for those kids who were there watching and/or filming, they can't be charged with a crime.

There was a case years back where a woman was raped in a bar, there was also a movie made about the case with Jodie Foster, I thought that they had also charged those who watched, but I may be wrong about that. Anyone recall that case?

Seems outrageous that anyone who films or takes pictures of a rape, even watching a crime take place and do nothing, can't be charged with a crime.

In Ohio, my very good friend served 12 years for hosting a party where a rape occurred. He was not even on the proerty at the time of the rape, the rapist themselves said he was not involved and unaware of the rape-- He was still sentenced and served every single day of that sentence.

These kids are white, christian Ohio football players. They probably walk on water, shit gold bricks that smell like roses and have 12 inch dicks if you let their families tell it... I dont care if that passed out girl had previously given each and every one of them head while another one was up inside of her simultaneously. They all are bragging about how "dead" she was. One even asks if anyone thought she could even feel his dick on her ass she was so passed out cold. They could have been raping a corpse for christsakes...

Why is it that these
virile,
privileged,
handsome,
educated and coached young men,
who live in a free country, where 15 year olds ARE having consensual sex, still become rapists?

.....going to stand in the corner now for mouthing off.

The movie was 'The Accused'.

The one making the stupid jokes is Michael Nodianos. He had graduated and was on his way to Ohio State on scholarship. Since the rapes alledgedly occured in three separate locations he and others may have participated. Only two were charged so far. They're all sick kids. CNN has jumped on it now, big time, even Anderson Cooper.

Tomorrow there's to be another mass rally led by Anonymous in Steubenville. When I find who's streaming it, I'll post it.

Perfect post Ruthie!
Exactly...great point about why the need and desire to rape a passed out girl when having consensual sex is a regular thing, not living in the 50's anymore.

AWESOME!

If college educated males, poised to be productive members of society do this and laugh about it for WEEKS afterwards...it should terrify women of all ages of what a "monster" does when he is "mad" depressed, angry, delusional... these guys are supposedly wonderful examples of : good american cream-of-the-crop mentally stable and articulate males! Complete with GPA's to be proud of. Mentally stable, and physically in prime condition.

TERRIFYING.

They peed on her. She is garbage to them. A defenseless, vulnerable, un-responsive woman who came to be with them for a night of celebration. Instead of helping--or even ignoring her... they penetrated her, multiple times, posed for photos, peed on her then distributed the photos, then made a VIDEO about it, and distributed THAT. Sentence them TWICE. IMHO.

Sherrice Iverson was 7 years old & an honor student in 1997, when 18-year-old Jeremy Strohmeyer followed her into a Nevada casino bathroom. His friend David Cash walked in while Strohmeyer was in the process of raping her & heard him tell her to shut up or he'd kill her.

Cash left the restroom. He didn't alert authorities or the casino staff. Strohmeyer told him he killed Sherrice & Cash was only interested in salacious details of the sexual aspect of the assault.

He couldn't be charged in any way for the rape or murder of Sherrice. There was no law that requires anyone to report a crime in progress, to take any action to stop a crime or volunteer themselves as a witness. Police said there wasn't enough evidence to charge him as an accessory.

The Sherrice Iverson bill was passed a year later. It requires adults who witness abuse of a minor under 14 to report, but the max penalty for failure to report is a year in jail or $1000.00 fine & family members are excluded from the requirement to report. As far as I know, it's a Navada state law, not a federal law.

http://www.oocities.org/murderedbabies/story.html

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Jeremy_Strohmeyer

I'll never, ever forget this case. Cash never expressed remorse for his lack of action to save Sherrice. He didn't/doesn't believe he did anything wrong or had any duty to do anything to protect that little girl.

That's the case that horrifies me. But you're thinking of Cheryl Araujo who was gang raped in a crowded Bar in New Bedford, Massachusetts. Three people were eventually charged & convicted for reckless endangerment in that case, not rape. The state didn't want to prosecute because Cheryl had a "reputation". The onlookers were never prosecuted.

I'd still like to know why her father wasn't sent to prison for having her in a casino at 4 o'clock in the morning. Or was he? Nobody seemed to want to address this.
